this is good news for me. The beta delay gives me time to spend on my
PS3 games, especially since GW is the only PC game i play. But the PS3 doesn't stop me from wanting to read up on new GW2 info. so come on ANET spill some juicy media.

no they are not lol
hog
wild boar

wolf

polar bear
brown bear

I am guessing those are same body types, and someone is taking a short cut by only replacing the head and not doing a very good job at differentiating them.

Wouldn't be surprise they all share the same animation as well.... but we shall see.

Don't get me wrong, the art work is fantastic. but if its 3 different types of "beast", then it better be 3 different type of beast. and not one type of beast with same animation that uses different skills, that would be very disappointing since the art work is so damn beautiful.

Wait, so do we have to have the same name from this first gw in the gw2 to be able to get the titles?

Don't think you have too, and we don't know if we get the titles, all it says is we get a REWARD to show our earlier accomplishments

I said anatomically similar anyway, which they are, four legs, guts and innards all in roughly the same place...

Anyway, they all look bad ass, but I'm guessing Boar Form is more of a Tank, where as Bear will most likely be damage and DPS...

It has been stated that name reservation is an option. And it says we get unlocks from HoM.

You will be able to add to the Hall of Monuments in the original Guild Wars even after the release of Guild Wars 2, and any newly unlocked accomplishments will then be visible in Guild Wars 2. We will provide more information about the exact rewards for each Hall of Monuments accomplishment as we get closer to the release of Guild Wars 2.
It says we will get rewards for UNLOCKED ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
So we will get a reward for each COMPLETETD monument.

Define "complete". If you seriously expect rewards to only be given to people who have completed every single title, have every single mini pet, or every single piece of elite armor, or every single weapon, hero, etc, etc, then you're insane.

There is a requirement posted some where of what is conciderd a compleated monument, so I don't need to define it, A-Net allready did that.

It would be pretty bad for new players who do not have GW1 to get GW2 only to discover that a lot of names they cannot use.?

Well, although I do want to use one or 2 of my existing names. but i do think its not very fair to new players.

After YEARS of play, to which the only way to unlock certain items/aspects of play is grind there is still elements which have not been found. I don't know if Diablo is the game you compare it to.
I can compare it more to Diablo for multiple reasons: 1. Gameplay varies drastically to what's found in your average MMO (no tanking, threat bars, "uber gear" (but we'll get to that below), etc.), 2. Entirely instanced with no way to connect other players in different outposts, areas, etc. with the exception of whispering and guild chat 3. The exception in number two feels no different than the whispering you see in Battle.Net.

When you apply the term "MMO" to a game these days, a lot of things are expected of it, including: mounts, large emphasis endgame, long (and meaningful) level cap, increasing your "skill" through gear and weapons, etc. Is it a problem GW doesn't have these? Far from it. It's only a problem when people pick up GW with these expectations, and that's what you get when you pen the name MMO on it hence why I don't use it. The gameplay is much less WoW and much more Diablo i.e. "hack n slash" with a much more intelligent form - that last part is a lie, of course.

And that's my problem with the "grind" in GW: you're rewarded for it. Not only in the form of a shiny weapon, but also in the form of having an easier time playing through the game. I don't care how much "grind" GW has as long as it doesn't give you an in-game advantage, which is why I have a problem with it now.

Less fair to GW1 players that already have the name and may want to use it on GW2

I want to know about the long term plan of GW2. Will there be chapters/expansions? In what form will they add new content? How will they keep the population concentrated? Less outposts, more dungeon like style, one continent?

Next, what are the game mechanics and how did they solve the problems that made them move to GW2 in the first place?

And what about the skill>time and the vanity approach? Lots of grind?
